21st Century Technology Continues to Grow at CPES
The College Park Elementary School Board has committed to ensuring that our students have access to current technology and has appointed a standing Technology Committee to oversee this ongoing initiative.  The first phase of the plan included upgrading the wireless Internet access throughout the school, the purchase of 60 Chromebooks with mobile charging carts for grades 5 through 8, and the purchase of 25 iPads with a charging/sync cart for JK through 4.  This facilitates the more efficient use of technology in the classrooms and makes our modern computer lab available to all classes for specialized uses.  All 10 of our classrooms now have interactive whiteboards; 5 SmartBoards and 5 Epson BrightLink interactive projectors.
CPES uses Google for Education and all students have managed e-mail accounts with the domain.  This enables all students and staff to use the many Google Education apps and services.  All of these e-mail accounts are managed and as such all communication may be accessed by administration whenever deemed necessary.  The progress in our uses of technology necessitates the revision of the Internet Acceptable Use Policy and the Internet User Agreement.  The newer technology also includes the simplification of quality image production with videos and photos.  This means that all parents/guardians must submit an updated Parent Agreement for Publication of Information on Electronic CommunicationsThese documents are available for download in two pdf files.  The first is the policy and the second contains both the user agreement and the parental permission for publication.
